You know what, it really is sensless to carry on like this. I love foregin film like Fellini, Kurosawa, Bergman, Godard, Truffaut, Malle, Jeunet etc. and i love old movies thats all i watch really. i hate todays cinema, most of the blockbusters i mean. i thought Avatar was disgusting and just a rip off of every childrens tale. it was pretty, but other than that it was a bore. i think todays film is driven by CGI and adrenaline rushes that we dont even have stories. all we have are remmakes, sequals and rip-offs. i think the independent cinema is a breath of fresh air in all of this blockbuster mess. thats why my mom and i went to sundance. there is so much more to offer than explosions and guns and chasing scenes. they bore me to tears. i hate it when foergin film is made into an english version only because AMERICANS DONT WANT TO READ SUBTITLES!! that disgusts me. 55% of the films i watch are foerign and i am american and live in america. i see polish, sweedish, italian, spanish, brazilian, french, african, british/scottish, danish, japanese, chinese, korean and more cinema. i love to get that different point of view from a different country. recently i saw Elevator to the Gallows which was this phenominal little Louis Malle film from 1958. i got more chills from a B&W french film than i did from a CGI infused blockbuster called Avatar. same thing with 12 Angery Men; no guns, car chases or explosions but still kept me on the edge of my seat. this is only the beginning my friends.....
